Julian Keller is a young adult who is somewhere in his early twenties. Marvel hasn't specified an age for him in. . . a while, early twenties is about as accurate as it's going to get. He stands at 5'10", and while he isn't particularily bulky, he has a decent amount of muscle on him, putting him at 180lbs. He's a mesomorph, and the uniform he wears is tight-fitting, when it isn't in pieces.
Julian is also missing his hands. They cut off at his forearms, just a little below his elbows. He does have metal prosthetics, but the ones he currently utilizes are not attached to his arms whatsoever; they typically act like hands would, but float just a little bit away from himself and often have a green glow around them - his telekinetic signature.

Julian was born to the Keller family in Los Angeles, California. Unlike many mutants, they were not openly hostile towards his mutation when he'd first developed it, but weren't happy with his want to develop his ability further. At Julian's urging, his family sent him to Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning in order to learn to control his telekinesis. Within the school, he'd quickly established himself as one of the most talented, and arrogant students.
His charisma and confidence made him a natural leader, and gained the attention of Emma Frost, who had decided to take him under her wing to beome his advisor. Under Emma's tutelage, Julian, going now by the alias of Hellion, led the squad also known as The Hellions. Their team consisted of Julian, who played the role of squad leader, Sooraya Quadir (Dust), Cessily Kincaid (Mercury), Santo Vaccaro (Rockslide), Brian Cruz (Tag), and Kevin Ford (Wither). They often played the role of rival to the New Mutants squad that Mirage had put together, which was led by Sofia Mantega (Wind Dancer) and consisted of Laurie Collins (Wallflower), Josh Foley (Elixir), David Alleyne (Prodigy), Noriko Ashida (Surge), and Jay Guthrie (Icarus).
Julian often clashed with other students - most notably Josh Foley and David Alleyne, due to his attitude and arrogance. He was very much the school jock who led the cool kids and thought he was better than most. However, from the very beginning, he's also been fiercely protective of mutantkind - going so far as to give a loud speech in the cafeteria to defend Kevin Ford to the rest of the students when the FBI had come looking for him. He initially had a crush on Sofia Mantega, who flirted with him on occasion.
And despite his mouthy nature, he did admire Emma Frost. She was his mentor, and he was willing to push himself passed his limitations in order to earn her respect.
After M-Day, everything changed.
Many students lost their powers, some even dying due to being incompatible with life without their mutation. Students who preferred to sleep in the pool at night died without ever knowing what was going on, while many others panicked. The Purifiers launched an attack on the institute, shooting a missile at a school bus loaded de-powered children, killing many of Julian's close friends - and that's not even touching on the children they killed outside of the bus incident. Icarus had his wings removed in an attempt to save his friends, and ultimately died while trying to leave some clue of what was going on. Wallflower was killed by a sniper, just a few inches away from Elixir.
After some shuffling around, the school was shut down, forcing Julian and the other survivors to mostly fend for themselves.
Julian went from a kid of sixteen, ready to jump into life and be the best man he could be, to one of the few remaining mutants on earth, surrounded by death. He became more angry, bitter, and reckless.
And this was only the beginning of the end.
